Second Opinion

Have you recently been told that you need an expensive or lengthy dental treatment? Did you see another dentist due to pain, but are still in pain after your treatment? If you have questions or concerns about your latest dental exam and wish to have a second opinion, we offer an in-office consultation here at Dental Care of Plano.

What Happens in the Appointment?

When you come in to get a second opinion, we will examine your dental health carefully, discussing with you all the symptoms or issues you have been having. Depending on the concern, we may need to take x-rays or other images, perform screenings for diseases or oral cancer, or perform other types of examination. After your appointment, we will provide our second opinion on the treatment that was originally prescribed.

You are under no obligation to receive treatment from us once we’ve offered our opinion. We are always happy to help new patients better understand their oral health, and make the best decisions for their own wellbeing with more information.

Why Get a Second Opinion?

Most people see the same dentist for years, or even all their lives, and trust them to take care of their oral health. Seeking a second opinion does not mean that you no longer trust your dentist, and doesn’t mean that you have to stop seeing your dentist. A second opinion is simply a way to better understand the issue, and to ensure that the recommended treatment is what you want to pursue. For intensive dental treatments, this opinion can also help you feel more secure about carrying on with the procedures. Once you are confident that this is the right choice, you can go back to your trusted dentist for the treatment.
